Article Of The Week : “Your Brain On Computers”3

The argument that this author is trying to make in this article is that for the past few recent years electronic devices have become very popular. It’s become obsessive to a tremendous amount of people’s lives.  Now in days computers are used everywhere. Everything from ipods, computers to the most of all phones. It’s being used to ” kill time ” to “occupy your boredom”. When really you can be doing something much healthier for your brain or even your body. As the author states, all these devices take away precious time from your life, time that you can be using to learn information or think of creative ideas. As your using your devices ,  your distracting and preventing your mind from doing all this. The author suggests that instead of wasting your time with these gadgets, spend your time on something better, maybe even more worth it. Next time your at the gym, occupying yourself by listening to your ipod think about maybe next time just going for a jog. Or when your at home, and your eyes are glued to the t.v, try turning it off and reading something.

I am in between whether i agree with this author or not. He does in fact state some good reasons but If I agreed that’d be pretty hypocritcal of me. I do think that maybe the whole electronic devices have been taken to a whole nother level. But I don’t find anything wrong with them. These devices help make many people’s daily lives so much easier. You need to check your email real fast you can do it, make a phone call, check the whether, send an important essay, listen to music or so on…..Its a quick, easy and chilled way to do things. What’s so wrong with that? You have plenty of other time to challenge your brain by studying, and learning information. So in my opinion no, I do not find anything wrong with our electronic devices and how often they are being used. It’s our lives we can spend it how we want, for the better or for the worst.

The intended audience for this article I believe is for everyone that is able to use these devices. Men, women, boys, girls, kids, teens, adults and even seniors. Employed or unemployed. Doesn’t matter this article was intentionally written for anybody who is guilty of owning an of these electronic devices and use them on a constant daily basis. So that it can maybe open their eyes to see other options of things to do rather than sleep on these computers.
